As the summer as progressed, let me know how you feel about the prospect of going back to school? Are you anxious for another year of sports, classes, and friends or are you lamenting at the loss of a little bit of free time?
I can tell you that I found August to be the hardest part of summer while I was in high school and college. School was always a fun place to hang out with my friends, laugh, oh and have class. Of course, the summers in Louisiana are very hot, so we were usually at a pool, the water park, or out on a lake.

SUMMER!

My summer is officially over. Today was my first day of school and everything went well. However, my first day of school is completely irrelevant.
Summer for me is a time of learning and growth. every summer for the past three summers i have been an instructor and mentor of children. The beginning of each year seems almost scary. Thought of failure and the consequences of those failures dance through my head. However, concepts like brother hood and team work shortly follow.
At the end of every summer i feel relieved that i done my job successfully. However, the feeling of success is often over shadowed by the feeling of good bye. According to the American Camping Ass. the average time for a camp to have a full staff turn over is 3 years. that being said the brother hood i work with is never the same two weeks in a row never mine two years. Some of my closest friends come from camp, and I am closer to a group of guys that i spend two months a year with than i am with the friends i spend 10 months with.
In conclusion, my summer is a time for growth and development. It is a time for success and fear. It is a time for fraternity and ecstasy. I can honestly say i grow more as a human in those brief 10 weeks than i do in the other 42.
