camping
so i just looked at the calendar and if we go camping the 15th and 16th like we planned, the maryknoll kids can't go because we have our luau that sunday and have to be there early in the morning to help out. so it would be easiest for us to go the 14th and 15th but i don't know what you guys have planned.
so i called mr. gumbo and mr. matt and they said that we can either keep that plan or make a new one.
so our options are the 14th and 15th
the 15 and 16th
the 21st and 22nd
or the 22nd and 23rd.
just tell me which would be easiest for you a.s.a.p. so that i can make arrangements for our tents and stuff.

bellows paintball
It doesnt look like paint ball will happen on our camp out.
bellows starts $25 to rent a gun and a $10 field fee for every one who owns their own gun.
paint would cost $50 for a box of 2000 which would last 2 people all day.
lastly, in order to get a group rate we would have to have 20 people who wanted to play.

Lock-In Permission Forms
Do we still need to get a permission form to invite other people to the lock-in? If so, I would like to have one. And who do we turn them in to?
Hey guys.... Bad news.....
My X-box360 is out of commission. But "Derek" from Microsoft tells me that she'll be back up and running in about 2 months. So unfortunately, shes gone, but I still have all my games if anyone else is willing to bring their xbox, and I also will bring my PS2. What is everyone bringing?

Greetings From Creighton University
Ello everyone, it's Josh, I'm just checking in on how my old crew is doing, looks like Mr. G has it running smoothly, and while LSU is doomed to lose to the Crimson Tide in the SEC in my opinion, I'm sure the organization is just as convenient as before. Creighton is a Jesuit University which takes pride in being a catholic school and is, one of the best, if not, THE best school in terms of technology in the west (pff, LSU). I'll be in Hawaii for a week in October soon, and if I come to Hawaii, I would like to know what the perspective of Jesuits are to fellow catholics. Well, I hope to be back in Hawaii, and when I come, I hope to CU there, haha (Corny joke the university does all the time, Creighton University= CU = See you)

hospital stuff
I called Kapiolani today and they said that they didn't need help right now but if we could get an organized activity of some sort (they said reading wouldn't keep their attention) that they could possibly fit us in.
So, I talked to Mr. Gumbo and we're just putting it on hold for now.

2008-2009 Calender
Hi Guys. Hannah did a great job on this years calender. I am currently typing it out and i will make copies to distribute. The calender will be finalized for the month that it is published, tenative for the next month, and a rough idea for the rest of the year. This "roughness" will allow for more projects or recreational activities to be added or moved around as needed.
Also, at the meeting on August 31 the idea of a phone tree was brought up. This is a great idea and it needs to be implemented. That being said I would like for every one to know their phone numbers for next weeks meeting. I know it seems like a normal thing to know but please verify that you know your cell, home, and an email address(preferable one that is checked regularly) so a phone tree can be put in place.
Thanks,
Mike

Short Fuse Item
Folks!!!!
Can everyone make the Mass on Sunday, so we can hang out at the beach right after instead of having a full class Sunday night? For those who dont know Mass on Sunday is at the park by Hickam beach.
Some people are out of town so I do not anticipate a full class; so this may be an opportunity for some fun and sun and of course the whole spiritual thing.
Let me know.
Hannah please coordinate with Richel and call everyone if you can. Please let me know if this is possible. My number is 781-1856.

What's on your mind
PoP CYO,
As the summer as progressed, let me know how you feel about the prospect of going back to school? Are you anxious for another year of sports, classes, and friends or are you lamenting at the loss of a little bit of free time?
I can tell you that I found August to be the hardest part of summer while I was in high school and college. School was always a fun place to hang out with my friends, laugh, oh and have class. Of course, the summers in Louisiana are very hot, so we were usually at a pool, the water park, or out on a lake.
Your thoughts?
Mr. Gumbo

Some Great News
So, we just found out a few days ago that my niece, Cammie, is in remission.
She had OMS Neuro Blastoma, a nerve cancer that was type 3 Inoperable. Meaning, she couldn't get the cancer removed surgically.
We found out maybe...four days ago that the cancer is no longer attacking her system.
Yup, yup.
Just had to tell everyone.
Peace,
Ty

Update on Exchange Program
Yes, Asanno is Jessica. I`m in my sixth day of the Japanese exchange program right now. It is really great, seriously. It would take me hours to type out all the amazing events that have occurred so I`ll just show pictures to those who are interested when I get back. And no, I do not have Japanese boyfriend right now. Boys in Japan are extremely shy and will just stare and gape at me. Few have told me that I am really pretty though. Yay me. My face is all ugly right now because of a burn from my face medicine, it sucks. Every single one of my pictures has that discoloration popping out at you. I`m a very sad ninja. There is a guy named Felix who also is part of the program on the Hawaiian side; he declared that he would ask me out if I was older. Is he cute? No, he is UGLY! FYI. Also, typing on a Japanese keyboard is difficult. Eventually, I will explode from being fed too much. My family wants me to try so many differents foods that I`ll be gaining weight instead of losing it. . . How depressing. . .

Off island
CYO,
I am flying out tomorrow afternoon for a week to visit my Grandma. Please keep her in your prayers. She has terminal cancer and the docs don't give her to much time to live.
Remember, we have the lock-in coming up on 21 Jun. Mr. Matt will be in charge of class this coming Sunday.
You can all still reach me on my cell or over email.

Ey, Howzit?
Greetings fellow POP CYO enthusiasts. It's yours truly, Awesome Man. When I first heard Gumbo's explanation of the blog, I was a little hesitant about if I should participate in it or not, and I decided, why not? I mean come on! You guys rock.
Anyway, I just got done with a take home U.S. History final, so I'm ready to Blog. Let's rant about politics, Obama or Clinton? In my opinion, neither, they both are pretty much just putting on a smile to win votes. We don't even know if either of them will actually do anything in office. Personally I think we shouldn't hold elections anymore. We should really just take all the candidates and put them in a room with some examiners. The examiners then ask them questions for days and days just to see how they react. If they remain sane enough to respond after weeks, then congrats, they might be able to be pres. But if they start mumbling and drawing endless algorithms on the walls then they're out. Trial by fire baby, trial by fire.
One last thing before I log off for the night, what's with dentists being able to understand people while they're working IN their mouths? It's remarkable.
Dentist: "So, have you seen any good movies this month?"
You:" MMhhsshMMmm Murrrrrmmp."
Dentist: "Oh really? Was it any good?"
You: "Mrrrrhhh."
Dentist: " I need to see that one then..."
You may think it's weird now but just try it. Next time you're at the dentist, you'll see.
